TGIF Project: Painterly Silhouettes

When I first saw these silhouettes on Design*Sponge, I thought “wow – those are some pretty cool printouts.”  My thought was that these are been done in a graphics program, printed out on laserjet paper and framed.  I was wrong – they use acrylic paint!

The outline of the images themselves (for instance, the shoe shape) were printed out, and a template was cut out of contact paper. Here’s the best part. It takes about 5 – 10 minutes to paint the stripes once you have the template cut and down on the background. Peel away and voila!  Go here for the full tutorial.
