Make It Monday: St. Patrick’s Day T-Shirt

Is it just me, or does it seem like we get through one holiday and then another is quick to come right afterwards?  I find it so difficult to keep up sometimes!  That’s why I appreciate simple crafts like this one – crafts that aren’t too complicated and make a big splash.  We’re only a few weeks out from St. Patrick’s Day, so you might want to craft up a little something to wear.  This shirt uses only one FolkArt Fabric color and the pattern is provided, so it’s easy-peasy.  Go here for the project.

Make it Monday: Snow Princess T-Shirt

Are you a snow princess?  I would say that I definitely am – I LOVE cold weather!  Even if you don’t love cold weather, if you are a princess and it’s winter, you qualify.  That means you too can paint this t-shirt (and wear it) with FolkArt Fabric.  I’m going to be honest, I’m not that great at freehand painting, which is why I particularly like that this uses stencils to “make the magic happen.”  It’s also nice that it only uses two colors.  Find the complete instructions here.

Make it Monday: Fabric Painted Kids’ Clothes

Always wanted to paint on fabric, but not sure where to start?  Adrianna from crafterhours recently got ahold of some FolkArt Fabric Paint and Simply Stencils and started playing – and the results are fabulous!  If you want to do some fabric painting, read Adrianna’s review for some tips and tricks.  Not only did she paint using the stencils, but she got crazy and freehanded some very cute onsies!  Visit here for the complete review.

Saturday Find: Paint Your Clothes

With back-to-school already happening for some and looming for others, I thought this post by Heather at Dollar Store Crafts would be timely. You can paint your clothes, and you can do it with acrylic craft paint that you already have on hand.  Read more about the process here.

TGIF Project: Extreme Glitter Shoes

Have you tried FolkArt Extreme Glitter?   If you haven’t, it does wonderous things, and it does them in many colors. Lil’ Blue Boo is a fabulous crafting blog, and Ashley recently used Rose Extreme Glitter to decorate her daughter’s shoes. The results are above, and as you can see, the shoes sparkle and shine beautifully. If you are getting ready to go back to school, consider a little pick-me-up for the kids’ wardrobe. Visit Ashley here to see her full tutorial.

TGIF Project: Painted Bird Tee

I love customizing my own fashion – especially with paint. The only issue is that I’m not the smoothest operator while painting on fabric, and I’m scared to mess up.  When I saw this, I thought “I can do it!”  This painted bird tee was spotted on Geninne’s Art Blog, and it actually uses one of free embroidery designs as the pattern.  Read more about the project here, and then just so you know we have some awesome FolkArt Fabric paint for a painted t-shirt occasion such as this.

TGIF Project: 4th Baby Bib and Shirt

It’s not too late to get decked out for the fourth!  This fabric painted project by Cathie and Steve is great to get your little ones looking festive, and it’s very easy to do. You just need a few FolkArt Fabric colors, some painter’s tape and a foam star stamp. I know some of you craft moms can whip these out in a couple of hours!  Go here for the full instructions.

TGIF Project: Patterned Shirt for Dad

Father’s Day is quick approaching – have you made anything for the Dad in your life yet?  If not, this is an easy project that won’t break the bank, especially if you recycle something old of his.  Cathie and Steve painted this shirt above with FolkArt Fabric and some random foam shapes/stencils.  All you need is three colors of paint, and you can purchase a new shirt or pull an old favorite out of dad’s closet that he hasn’t worn in awhile.  Look for the instructions here.

Screenprinting Made Easy

I’ve been interested in painting on textiles recently, and I have to give major props to the Simply Screen line because I LOVE the paint!  The line is great because it has vibrant colors and stays soft after being washed. I’m not just saying that either – I’ve actually tried it and it’s the best textile paint I’ve used to date.  In addition to the paint, there are several screens available with many designs (like the one above).  I really like easy and quick when I’m making gifts, and Simply Screen is perfect.

Get instructions for the shirt above here.
