TGIF Project: Batik with Children

For many of you, the children are home for the summer from school – you want to do some art projects, but you aren’t sure what to do. You also don’t want to spend a lot of money.  This small batik on an embroidery hoop by Simple Analogy is the perfect solution.  It uses fabric, a few acrylic paint colors (we recommend Apple Barrel for children) and an embroidery hoop. Eco-Organization with Chalkboard Paint

Tuesday Huesday: Blue Crush

BH&G Do It Yourself, Summer 2010

Bright rooms are a big deal right now; every time I open a magazine I see a bright room!  I think neutrals like white and black look great with brights, and this room is a perfect illustration. Take a closer peek at the photo and you’ll see the before of this darling breakfast nook. The brightness and contrast would make a great color palette. . . so here one is.

I used FolkArt Acrylic paint to create my color palette (clockwise from top left): Magenta, Ocean Cruise, Yellow Citron, Pure Black, Titanium
